Once your paperwork has cleared, our Volunteer Manager will contact you about areas you feel you would most like to work. Your training will be based on the area you choose. For example, a more in-depth training is needed for volunteers who answer the Helpline, as opposed to those who might be most interested in fundraising in their community. You will also discuss the amount of commitment you are interested in. Some of our volunteers want a set time each week. Some prefer that we call them when we have a need, while others are interested in becoming a part of their local coalition. If you have a special skill, we will do our best to put your skills and talents where your interests and our current needs intersect. We have a big tent.
